The Occult Cause of the Madonna/Whore Complex

The Roman Catholic Church has spent a lot of time arguing over whether Mary Magdalene really was a prostitute. I can tell them that she was, but that her mythic character was developed from the honoured tradition of the sacred whore whose role is vital in producing the avatar of the age.

Unfortunately, though, because this occult understanding has been hidden from the masses, it has given rise to the Madonna/Whore complex, which some men suffer from when they are rooted in base consciousness, and cannot see both the the Madonna (Virgin Mary) and Sacred Whore (Mary Magdalene) in the same woman and therefore need different partners to serve those different needs.

The word ‘occult’ just means ‘hidden’. Here’s the occult understanding that many are missing:

On the zodiac that has been coded, as the understory, into the gospels, Virgo is represented by the Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene. In the ancient Mesopotamian world, the word ‘virgin’ did not mean a person who had not yet had sex; it meant a woman who had had sex with a god or Holy Spirit, which is the role of the hierodule or sacred temple prostitute.

Mythic heroes, like sun gods, can only be born to a coupling between a human and a god or goddess.

The impregnating god in the case of the Virgin Mary was the winged messenger, Gabriel, the equivalent of the Roman Mercury or the Greeks’ wing-footed Hermes. Mercury is the governing planet of the sign of Virgo. He was known to the Celts as Gwyddion, to the Saxons as Woden and to the Vikings as Odin.

thm_l-annonciation
Painting: Annuciation by Giovanni Battista Pittoni (c.1756). In medieval and Renaissance paintings, Mary the Virgin is always depicted wearing a blue cloak over a red dress whereas Mary Magdalene is shown in a blue dress topped by a red cloak.

When the fruit of the union, Jesus, becomes an adult, he meets the sacred prostitute Mary of Magdala, and is initiated by her into the Mysteries, which is the final fire initiation. It is actually the performance of the alchemical process, the Marriage of the Sun and the Moon, which leads to the birth of the Child of the Philosopher otherwise known as the Philosopher’s Stone.

I explain how this alchemical process within sacred love-making works in my book, The Sacred Sex Rites of Ishtar. I also show the historical evidence for how sacred sex was used to fire up the higher brain centres of the kings of old, and there is also a step-by-step guide for how it can be practised today.

Later on, we find three Marys – Mary Magdalene, Mary the Virgin and Mary of Cleophas – who keep vigil at the foot of the cross during the crucifixion. This trio represents the traditional triple-faced goddess of Maiden, Mother and Matriarch, symbolising the three phases of the Moon – New Moon, Full Moon and Dark Moon.

The Mary figures in ancient myths – whether Ishtar, Isis, Diana, Inana etc… – is always associated with the Moon, while the male figure is associated with the Sun. This is so that they can perform the marriage of the Sun and the Moon. In some traditions, it is the struggle between fire and ice.

In modern scientific parlance, she is also the Magnetic part, and he the El part, of the electromagnetic current. That’s why the old Hebrew god, before Jehovah, was called El.

This is also the hidden meaning of the Magnificat:

My soul doth magnify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded: the lowliness of his handmaiden: For behold, from henceforth: all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath magnified me: and holy is his Name...

But for those men who suffer from the Madonna/Whore complex, it is as if Virgo is split in half, in their subconscious minds, leading to so-called behaviourial disorders which manifest within their relationships with female partners, such as bipolar, narcissism, border line and other kinds of psychopathy.

Annie Dieu-Le-Veut is a shaman and story archaeologist who digs up the originals of these epic tales that were drawn in the glittering night skies of the last Ice Age. She brushes them off and then breaks down their meanings in the simplest of terms, so that we can unlock the doors of our perception with their metaphorical keys.

Once we understand the substance of the messages our ancestors left for us thousands of years ago, we realise the value and meaning of human life and finally know what to do with it.
