Follow me on a shamanic journey into the Celtic Shadowlands, to meet Cerridwen and her cauldron in this, my latest song.

Long before the wily Serpent,
And Times and Tides faraway
There was another current,
A slower one, of the People of the Fae.

Back then the same white Moon was gleaming
down, silvering the seas of old,
But to those folk, both treasure
and pleasure were measured by meaning,
And a man’s dreams were valued more than gold.

They were known to some as the Ever Young
Who dreamed of the hag Cerridwen.
Her Grael of inspiration, they sung
Wouldn’t boil the meat of a coward,
The poets were the keepers of her gates
Into her Underworld towers.
They would only let the true knights through

So if you have the courage,
The Grael is here to serve you.

Gathered around Her simmering cauldron,
Let’s remember her again today.
In rooms lit by only a candle,
We follow a forgotten causeway.

Let us go deep, go down and down
Through the Well of the Stars below…

Down and down and down we sink,
Into a realm as black as ink
Down beyond all sense or rhyme
Down beyond all thought or time
Down and down and down we go
Until we hear a sound below.
A command that wakes our blood from sleep.

“Open the Gates”.
