In the The Sacred Sex Rites of Ishtar, you will learn all about the spiritual source of Sovereignty – and how to find it and reclaim it in your own life.
The Sacred Sex Rites of Ishtar is now in its second edition. It was first published in 2015, and has sold thousands since then. The author is a shaman – someone who gets guidance from the spirits in the other dimensions – who lives in Glastonbury, Somerset, England.
Her book is about shamanic sexual healing across dimensions that leads to greater self empowerment and creative intelligence, which she has been taught by her guiding spirits, over decades.
Annie Dieu-Le-Veut explains, however, that this is not a New Age teaching, but a very old one, and that she is merely reconstituting a practice in which our earlier ancestors were skilled and which they valued highly as a means of spiritual evolution.
In Part I, she lays the foundation stone for this teaching by showing the ancient artwork, iconography and orally transmitted lore underlying these sacred shamanic sex practices, which seem to have fallen out of favour after the destruction of the Mystery Groves and the Library of Alexandria.
I’m rarely impressed with books on spiritual topics, and I’ve read hundreds. This book is unique and useful. I intended to just browse the pages, but ended up being awake half the night reading nearly the whole book. There is a lot more to the book than sex rites, and what is shared is not the typical neo-tantra nonsense. I don’t want to spoil the book and others here have mentioned enough already. I am simply sharing my appreciation for the book. Thank you to Annie for sharing this information with us all.
Annie uses erotic poetry and engravings from ancient Egypt, Crete, India, Sumer and Babylon to show that sacred sex was part of the Kingship rites, and that the spirits were present in the lovemaking. She also finds evidence for the practice of the Faery Marriage, and what she believes is the original meaning of the Holy Grael which can be traced back to Neanderthals about 45,000 years ago.
Annie unravels ancient myths to show that they are really “Trojan horses” of sacred dramas which carry the secret keys of this ancient sex magic teaching. She is also the first to discover the allegorical sub-strata containing the keys to shamanic sex magic in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, based on alchemy and the Alchemical Marriage. She gives the same treatment to the story of the Woman at the Well in the Gospel of John.
Annie also describes how Babylon has been deliberately demonised by who we now call the Zionists and their proxy armies who have, for millennia, been trying to turn it into a pile of rubble. This is because of the power of the sacred geometry created by the Ishtar Gate and the Tower of Babylon, she says, which created the conditions for a portal, or a ‘Stargate’, into other dimensions.
I was fascinated to read Annie’s explanation of the origins of alchemical sex magic. I myself have practiced the techniques described – her descriptions are simple to follow and should be very helpful to those who are new to these arts. I especially like the techniques for Ecstasy in the Heart which I have found to be profound. I am very happy to recommend this book.
In Part II of The Sacred Sex Rites of Ishtar, Annie shows the metaphysical anatomy of the human being, and then reveals the previously secret techniques of shamanic sex magic, so that people can try them for themselves. She also reveals a deep mystery about the generation of the creation that has been hidden for millennia in abbeys and nunneries.
Very good read about sexuality rites in ancient times and how it affects modern times! I love this book because of the wealth of information that is provided and how the author is not afraid to take an approach to sexuality and its history out of the box of the patriarchial culture.
Although this may seem like quite a complex subject, Annie’s past experience as a national newspaper journalist in the UK – the Sunday Times, Sunday Express, Mail on Sunday – has given her the ability to explain some quite dense material in simple everyday language to produce an engaging, page-turner of a book. She also writes with great humour!
Amazingly revealing and enlightening. You don’t need to be interested in shamanism or metaphysics to find this work highly illuminating and a most enjoyable read. The author has a way of navigating through complex themes and subjects with a sharply descriptive style that is both no nonsense and highly entertaining. I would recommend this work above any other author in the field. 10 out of 10.

I’ve just read this book over Samhain. Perfect timing in so many ways. Every word, idea and concept was a deep confirmation of my inner knowing.
Even more, while I bought the book a month or so ago, I knew I had to read it now. Just last week, I was guided to step into who I am as a shaman. Of course, I wondered “how”. The answers were all right here, and provided me with the keys to step through the threshold within myself.
Thank you, Annie. Thank you.
